TestDaF-German as a Foreign Language tests in Austria
The TestDaF (Deutsch als Fremdsprache) refers to “German as a foreign language“. TestDaF is regulated by TestDaF Institute and is an internationally recognized and globally standardized language examination, testing language proficiency of non-native German Speakers. The TestDaF exam is the language aptitude that makes admission to a Higher Education Institution in Austria easier.
TestDaF comprises of four sections, namely, reading comprehension, written expression, oral expression/speaking and listening comprehension. You can chose to appear for Digital Test or Paper Based Test.
Structure of Digital TestDaF
Read - 7 exercises - 34 items
Approx. 55 minutes *
Listen - 7 tasks - 30 items
About 40 minutes
Write - 2 tasks - About 60 minutes
Speak - 7 tasks - Approx. 35 minutes
* The processing time and the number of questions can vary in each part of the exam. However, all participants receive a test of the same length.

3 reading texts: 30 items: 60 minutes
Listening comprehension
3 audio texts: 25 items: 40 minutes
Writing
1 task: 60 minutes
Oral Expression
7 tasks: 35 minutes
